Traffic restrictions in the Lokosovo area
Due to the installation of a pontoon bridge across the Seversky Donets River, the Sugar Yar crossing in the village of Lokosovo, Belgorod Region, will be temporarily closed from March 8 to March 15, 2023.
During this period, traffic will be redirected to the detour route through the village of Krasny Oktyabr.
Reasons for the closure
The installation of the pontoon bridge is necessary to ensure the safe passage of vehicles and pedestrians during the period of ice drift and floods.
The pontoon bridge will be equipped with traffic lights and pedestrian crossings to ensure the safety of all road users.
Alternative routes
Motorists traveling from Belgorod to Lokosovo are advised to use the following detour route:
- From Belgorod, take the P-22 highway towards Staroye Oskol.
- At the intersection with the R-185 highway, turn left towards Valuyki.
- Continue along the R-185 highway to the village of Krasny Oktyabr.
- Turn right onto the local road leading to Lokosovo.
The detour route is approximately 10 kilometers longer than the direct route through the Sugar Yar crossing.
