Government of Irkutsk region develops proposals for differentiated power tariffs
Irkutsk Energy proposes to implement differentiated power tariffs for industrial consumers in the region
The government of the Irkutsk region has developed proposals to introduce differentiated power tariffs for industrial electricity consumers. It is assumed that this measure will help to reduce the burden on the regional budget and stimulate the development of the industrial sector.
The introduction of differentiated tariffs is planned for 2024. It is proposed to establish three categories of consumers: large, medium and small. The cost of electricity for large consumers will be the highest, and for small consumers - the lowest.
The authorities of the Irkutsk region believe that the introduction of differentiated tariffs will create a more favorable investment climate in the region. In addition, this measure will help to attract new investors and create new jobs.
The proposal to introduce differentiated power tariffs has been met with mixed reactions from the business community. Some entrepreneurs support this initiative, while others believe that it will lead to an increase in the cost of production and a decrease in competitiveness.
The government of the Irkutsk region will continue to discuss the issue of differentiated power tariffs with representatives of the business community. It is planned to finalize the proposals and submit them to the Legislative Assembly of the Irkutsk region for consideration in the near future.
