Athletes from Leningrad Region Win Three Medals at Russian Hand-to-Hand Combat Championship
Over 300 athletes from 48 regions of Russia came to compete in the Championship.
The Russian Hand-to-Hand Combat Championship was held in the city of Elektrostal - Moscow region. The Leningrad region was represented by nine athletes - seven men and two women.
The competitions were held in two disciplines - single combat and team combat. The team from the Leningrad region won two bronze medals in single combat. The third bronze was won by the team of the Leningrad region in team combat.
Alexander Apriamov, the head coach of the Leningrad region team, spoke about the performance of his athletes:
“The guys performed well. The competition was very strong. The level of training of the athletes was very high. I am glad that our team managed to win three medals.”
The winners and prize-winners of the Championship were awarded with medals, diplomas, and prizes from the organizers. The Leningrad region team was awarded a special prize for the will to win and excellent physical training.
The names of the winners and prize-winners from the Leningrad region:
- Bronze medal in single combat - up to 65 kg - Kuznetsov Ivan
- Bronze medal in single combat - up to 75 kg - Guriev Makar
- Bronze medal in team combat - team of the Leningrad region
The victory of the Leningrad region team is a significant achievement for the region. This is the first time that the Leningrad region team has won three medals at the Russian Hand-to-Hand Combat Championship.
