Yuri Zhirkov Is Not Thinking About Coaching
Former Russia international Yuri Zhirkov says he’s not thinking about becoming a coach anytime soon.
Zhirkov, who retired from playing in 2021, said he’s enjoying spending time with his family and friends and isn’t in a rush to get back into football.
“I’m not thinking about coaching at the moment,” Zhirkov told Sport-Express. “I’m enjoying my retirement and spending time with my family and friends. I’m not in a rush to get back into football.”
Zhirkov, who played for CSKA Moscow, Chelsea and Zenit Saint Petersburg during his career, said he’s still involved in football as a pundit and ambassador for a number of clubs and organizations.
“I’m still involved in football as a pundit and ambassador for a number of clubs and organizations,” Zhirkov said. “I’m enjoying this role and I’m not thinking about coaching at the moment.”
Zhirkov, who won 102 caps for Russia, said he’s open to the possibility of coaching in the future, but it’s not something he’s thinking about right now.
“I’m not ruling out the possibility of coaching in the future, but it’s not something I’m thinking about right now,” Zhirkov said. “I’m enjoying my retirement and I’m not in a rush to get back into football.”
