Russian Legend Yuri Zhirkov Rules Out Coaching Role

Former Russia international Yuri Zhirkov has confirmed that he has no plans to become a coach in the near future. Having retired from playing in 2021, Zhirkov has been linked with several coaching roles, but the 39-year-old insists he is not yet ready to take on such a responsibility.

Zhirkov's Statement

In a recent interview, Zhirkov said: "I am not currently considering a coaching career. I'm not ready to take on such a responsibility. I need more time to think about my future and what I want to do next."

Zhirkov's Playing Career

Zhirkov enjoyed a successful playing career, winning the Russian Premier League three times with CSKA Moscow and representing Russia at two World Cups and two European Championships. He was also named in the UEFA Team of the Tournament at Euro 2008.

Zhirkov's Future Plans

Zhirkov has not ruled out the possibility of becoming a coach in the future, but he insists he is in no rush to make a decision. He said: "I'm not saying I will never become a coach, but it's not something I'm thinking about right now. I'm enjoying my time away from football and spending time with my family."
