YouTube Boxing: Mike Tyson Gets Knocked Out in the First Round
What Happened?
On November 28, 2022, during a YouTube boxing match, 56-year-old Mike Tyson was knocked out in the first round by 39-year-old Roy Jones Jr. The fight was scheduled for eight rounds, but it ended abruptly just 1:30 into the first round.
The fight started with both fighters exchanging punches. Tyson landed a few good shots, but Jones Jr. was able to counter with a flurry of punches that sent Tyson to the canvas. Tyson tried to get up, but he was unable to beat the referee's ten-count.
Why Did Tyson Lose?
There are a few reasons why Tyson lost the fight. First, he was significantly older than Jones Jr. and his reflexes were not as sharp as they used to be. Second, Tyson had not fought in over 15 years and he was not in as good of shape as Jones Jr. Finally, Jones Jr. is a very skilled boxer and he was able to outmaneuver Tyson in the ring.
What's Next for Tyson?
It is unclear what the future holds for Tyson. He has said that he is considering a rematch with Jones Jr., but it is also possible that he will retire from boxing. Regardless of what he decides to do, Tyson will always be remembered as one of the greatest boxers of all time.
