Yakut resident received a suspended sentence and a fine for illegal trafficking of precious metals worth over 16 million rubles
The court found the defendant guilty under Part 1 of Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal trafficking in precious metals)
The man illegally bought and sold about 6.5 kilograms of gold for 16.2 million rubles
The Yakut City Court sentenced a local resident to one year in prison suspended for one year with a fine of 100,000 rubles for illegal trafficking in precious metals.
The court found that in 2021, the man bought about 6.5 kilograms of gold from unidentified persons, without the necessary licenses and permits.
He then sold the gold to various individuals for a total of 16.2 million rubles.
The court also ordered the confiscation of the proceeds of the crime in the amount of 16.2 million rubles.
The verdict has not yet entered into legal force.
