Vadim Nemkov not planning to join Liga Nashe Delo while his brother is the champ, says Gulyan
A fresh revelation on the potential transfer of Bellator champ Nemkov
Vadim Nemkov has no plans to follow his brother to Liga Nashe Delo, owned by a Russian businessman, while his brother is still the reigning champion there, said ACA President Alexey Gulyan.
However, Nemkov's contract ends in May, opening up the possibility of him joining the Russian league at a later stage.
Nemkov's elder brother Viktor Nemkov, who is the reigning LND light heavyweight champion, signed with LND in September last year.
There were reports that Nemkov could also make the switch to LND. However, Gulyan's recent comments seem to have thrown cold water on those rumors.
Gulyan's comments on Nemkov's future
In a recent interview, Gulyan said that Nemkov is "100% focused" on his upcoming Bellator title defense against Yoel Romero.
He added that Nemkov has no plans to leave Bellator at this time.
"I know for sure that he loves Bellator," Gulyan said. "He is very happy there. He has a great relationship with the promotion. And he is very close to the title. So I think he will stay in Bellator for a long time.
Gulyan also said that Nemkov is "very supportive" of his brother's decision to join LND.
"He is very proud of his brother," Gulyan said. "He thinks it is a great opportunity for him. But he has no plans to follow him at this time.
Nemkov's future after Bellator
Nemkov's contract with Bellator expires in May. It is possible that he could join LND after that.
However, it is also possible that he could sign a new contract with Bellator.
Nemkov is one of the most successful fighters in Bellator history. He is the reigning light heavyweight champion and has won 13 consecutive fights.
He is also one of the most popular fighters in Russia. His decision on whether to stay in Bellator or join LND will be closely watched by fans around the world.
