The Volgograd Deputation Familiarizes Itself with the Progress of Work on the Third Launch Complex

The meeting was chaired by the First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security, Sergei Mukhametov.

The main issue of the meeting was to get acquainted with the progress of construction of the third launch facility at the State Test Cosmodrome in Plesetsk. The delegation inspected the facilities, visiting the territory of the airfield and the construction site of the launch pad and the technical complex.

The participants of the meeting listened in detail to the report on the progress of construction work and the timing of their implementation. They asked questions to the representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the leadership of the State Space Corporation Roscosmos, and the heads of the organizations involved in the construction. During the meeting, the participants also discussed the results of the activities of the military space forces and the prospects for their development.

The deputies, together with the military, discussed the prospects for the development of the military space forces.

The meeting was held with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the State Space Corporation Roscosmos, the commander of the Military Space Forces, and the heads of organizations involved in the construction.

The participants of the meeting discussed in detail the issues of creating a new generation space system, including a heavy launch vehicle and a super-heavy rocket, as well as the development of a promising space complex for monitoring outer space, providing missile attack warning.

The deputies expressed confidence that the creation of a new space system will strengthen the defense capability and security of the Russian Federation.

The construction of the third launch complex is part of the state program for the development of space activities in Russia.

The new launch pad and technical complex will allow for the launch of a new generation of spacecraft into orbit. The construction of the third launch complex is scheduled to be completed in 2027.
