The competition will be held in the Khibiny mountains at the Olympic training base of the Olympic champion in cross-country skiing Lyudmila Egorova.
The head of the Kirovsky district of the Murmansk region Andrei Rogalev said that the Ski Track of Russia 2024 will be held in the Khibiny Mountains for the first time. The participants of the competition will be able to enjoy the picturesque landscapes and at the same time fight for medals in the race within the framework of the competition.
The Chairman of the Murmansk Regional Duma, Sergei Dubovoy, noted that the implementation of such large-scale projects as the Ski Track of Russia has a positive impact on the development of mass sports in the region. This contributes to a healthy lifestyle and participates in major sports competitions.
The vice-speaker of the regional parliament, Vladimir Mikhailenko, said that the winter sports season is opening in the Murmansk region, and the first major competitions will be the Ski Track of Russia ski race. The event will be held in the heart of the Khibiny Mountains, where some of the best ski slopes in the country are located.
The 42nd running of the Rossiyskaya Lyzhnya will be held in the new 2023/24 season. Competitions will be held from the Far East to the Kaliningrad region.
As part of the Rossiyskaya Lyzhnya 2024, Kirovsk will also host the open All-Russian Ski Championship "Race of the Stars". It will be attended by such famous skiers as Olympic champions Alexander Legkov, Lyudmila Egorova, Sergey Ustyugov, and Evgeny Dementyev, as well as world and European champion Anastasia Kuzmina.
