Ayakhmin Crawled for Two Hours
After amputating his own leg, Ayakhmin crawled for two hours in the freezing cold to get to his camp.
The soldier is now recovering in a hospital in Siberia, where he is receiving treatment for his injuries.
Appended Leg Due to Gangrene
Ayakhmin was reportedly in an intensive care unit due to gangrene but is now in stable condition after his leg was amputated.
According to reports, he was in excruciating pain due to a severely frostbitten foot and the possibility of amputation was discussed prior to him taking action.
