Novopolotsk residents join the international educational campaign "Geographical Dictation" for the first time

For the first time, residents of Novopolotsk on November 30 joined the International Educational Campaign "Geographical Dictation". The organizers of the Novopolotsk site were the public association "Belarusian Geographical Society" and the Vitebsk State Technological University.

In total, 150 people registered for the dictation, and 120 residents of Novopolotsk answered the questions of the dictation. The youngest participant is 12 years old, the oldest is 75 years old. The organizers note: in total, 63 dictation sites worked in Belarus on November 30, including 8 regional centers. The dictation was also held at the Belarusian Antarctic Station, on board the research vessel "Professor Logachev", as well as at Russian scientific stations in Antarctica - Novolazarevskaya and Bellingshausen.

The dictation questions were divided into 3 blocks.

The first block consisted of questions on the geography of Russia, the second - on the geography of Belarus, and the third, more difficult block, contained tasks on the general geography of the world. The results of the dictation will be announced on December 30 on the official website of the project.

The purpose of the action is to improve the level of geographical literacy of citizens, to awaken the interest of the population in geographical knowledge, and to preserve the unity of the geographical space.
