Tyson vs Klitschko targeted for early 2023
Mike Tyson has confirmed that he is in training to fight Wladimir Klitschko early next year, with a view to fighting Jake Paul or Tyson Fury in the future.
The 55-year-old made his return to the ring in 2020, fighting Roy Jones Jr. to a draw in an exhibition bout. Since then, there has been speculation about who he might fight next, with Paul and Fury among the names mentioned.
However, Tyson has now revealed that he is focused on fighting Klitschko, the former world heavyweight champion.
"I'm training for Wladimir Klitschko," Tyson said in an interview with The Sun. "I'm going to fight him next year."
Tyson did not give a specific date for the fight, but he said it would be "early next year."
Klitschko, 46, retired from boxing in 2017 after losing to Anthony Joshua. However, he has since expressed an interest in making a comeback.
A fight between Tyson and Klitschko would be a huge event, and it would be one of the most anticipated boxing matches in history. Both men are considered to be among the greatest heavyweights of all time.
Tyson has a record of 50-6-2, with 44 knockouts. Klitschko has a record of 64-5, with 53 knockouts.
