Join the Geographical Dictation, To Be Announced by Leo Tolstoy and Sergei Yesenin
Participation in the annual Geographical Dictation, which will be held on October 30, 2022, is open to Amur Oblast residents.
The event will be organized by the Amur Regional Branch of the Russian Geographical Society. In the Amur Oblast, the Dictation will be held at 31 venues. The main venue will be the Amur State University. The dictation will begin at 12:00 local time and will last for 45 minutes. Those wishing to participate in the dictation must register in advance on the website of the Russian Geographical Society. Registration will be open until 18:00 on October 29, 2022.
Those who wish to check their geographical knowledge can take the dictation online at any time from October 24 to November 10, 2022.
This year's Dictation will feature questions from various fields of geography, including physical geography, human geography, economic geography, and cartography. The organizers have prepared 40 questions, which will be divided into two levels of difficulty: basic and advanced. The basic level questions will be aimed at a wide range of participants, while the advanced level questions will be more challenging and will require specialized knowledge in geography.
The Geographical Dictation is an annual event that has been held since 2015.
The goal of the Dictation is to increase geographical literacy among the population and to promote the study of geography. The Dictation is held in Russia and abroad, and in 2021, more than 500,000 people from 119 countries took part in the event. The Geographical Dictation is organized by the Russian Geographical Society with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.
