“He Understood Everything About Pugacheva”: 33 Years Later, Nadzhiev Spoke About Talkov’s Murder - “Borisovna Could Not Stand Competition in Anything”
Details of Igor Talkov’s death have emerged 33 years later.
At a creative evening dedicated to the memory of Igor Talkov, Aziza Mukhamedova suddenly announced that she knew the name of the singer’s killer. The singer was killed in 1991 after his performance at the Yubileiny Sports Palace in St. Petersburg.
In an interview with Prozvezd, singer and composer Rashid Dayrabaev spoke about a possible motive for the crime and named the main suspect.
“Pugacheva could not stand competition”
According to Dayrabaev, Alla Pugacheva may have been involved in Talkov’s murder. The singer allegedly envied the success of her colleague.
“Pugacheva has always been very jealous of Talkov. When she saw that he began to gather stadiums, she realized that he would soon become more popular than her,” the artist suggested.
Rashid Dayrabaev also recalled the incident that occurred at the Rossiya Concert Hall in 1989. Talkov, who was supposed to sing two songs, as a result, sang seven. Pugacheva, who was waiting for her turn backstage, was furious.
“After the concert, Pugacheva said: “If I had a weapon, I would have shot him,” Dayrabaev said.
“He understood everything about Pugacheva”
According to the singer, Talkov was well aware of Pugacheva’s attitude towards him and even mentioned it in his songs.
“In his last interview, Talkov said that he understood everything about Pugacheva,” Dayrabaev said.
The artist suggested that the singer’s murder was beneficial to Pugacheva, since after Talkov’s death, she became the only star on the domestic stage.
“It is unlikely that we will ever know the truth about Talkov’s murder,” Dayrabaev admitted. - But I am sure that Pugacheva is involved in this. She could not stand competition in anything.”
Pugacheva did not comment on the accusations
Alla Pugacheva herself did not comment on Rashid Dayrabaev’s statement. However, it is known that the singer repeatedly spoke about her respect for Talkov’s work.
In 2011, Pugacheva attended the opening of a monument to Talkov in Moscow and laid flowers at his grave.
The investigation into Talkov’s murder is still ongoing. In 2018, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation resumed the investigation into the criminal case.
