Ghana misses out on African Cup of Nations after draw with Angola

Ghana’s Black Stars will not participate in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast after a 1-1 home draw against Angola on Thursday.

Ghana needed a win to have a chance of qualifying for the tournament after losing 3-0 away to Madagascar on Sunday.

Angola took the lead through a penalty by Gelson Dala in the 55th minute.

Ghana equalized through Osman Bukari in the 60th minute.

Ghana pushed for a winning goal but could not find it.

The result means that Ghana has finished third in Group E, behind Madagascar and Angola.

Ghana has not missed out on the Africa Cup of Nations since 2008.
