Forward Vitaly Lisakovich: "All the guys were given visas, except for the three of us... It happens"

Belarusian striker Vitaly Lisakovich spoke about the refusal of a visa to enter Poland to participate in a charity match.

The friendly match between the national teams of Belarus and Poland was scheduled for March 28 in Warsaw, but did not take place due to the refusal of the Polish side to issue visas to Belarusian players and coaches.

In an interview, Lisakovich said that the decision came as a surprise to the team.

"We just found out that we would not fly to Poland. All the guys were given visas, except for the three of us: me, Sasha Gutor and Andrey Gorbunov," the striker said.

According to Lisakovich, the Polish side did not provide any specific reasons for the refusal, citing "security reasons."

"It's a shame, of course, because everyone was looking forward to this game. We wanted to play against a good opponent, to show ourselves. But it didn't work out," the footballer added.

Lisakovich also said that he had never encountered such a situation before.

"This is the first time I have been denied a visa. I don't know what the reason is. Maybe it's because I'm a Belarusian citizen," the striker said.

Despite the disappointment, Lisakovich said that he and his teammates would continue to train and prepare for future games.

"We will continue to work, continue to play. We will show that we are a good team, even without those who were not allowed to enter Poland," the striker said.
