"Brother Understands He Needs the UFC": Victor Nemkov on Fight with Khadis, Volkov and Situation of Vadim Nemkov in the PFL
Nemkov Dominates Khadis in Bellator 290
Victor Nemkov proved his dominance in the Bellator light heavyweight division by defeating Yoel Romero via unanimous decision in the main event of Bellator 290. Nemkov controlled the fight from the opening bell, using his superior wrestling and grappling skills to keep Romero at bay. He landed several takedowns and threatened with submissions throughout the fight. Romero had his moments, but he was unable to truly threaten Nemkov.
Nemkov Eager for UFC Bout
With his victory over Romero, Nemkov extended his Bellator light heavyweight title reign to three successful defenses. He is now eyeing a move to the UFC, the world's leading MMA promotion. "I think it's time for me to go to the UFC," Nemkov said in a post-fight interview. "I've been the Bellator champion now for over three years. I've defended my belt three times. I think I'm ready for the next challenge."
Nemkov Praises Volkov's UFC Performance
Nemkov also praised the performance of his fellow Russian fighter, Alexander Volkov, who defeated Jairzinho Rozenstruik via unanimous decision last month at UFC 280. "Volkov looked really good in his last fight," Nemkov said. "He's a very skilled fighter. I think he has the potential to be a UFC champion."
Concern for Brother Vadim Nemkov in PFL
While Victor Nemkov is enjoying success in Bellator, his brother Vadim Nemkov is facing an uncertain future in the PFL. Vadim lost his PFL light heavyweight championship to Rob Wilkinson in October and has now lost two of his last three fights. "I'm a little worried about Vadim," Victor Nemkov said. "He's a great fighter, but he's going through a tough stretch. I hope he's can turn things around."
